Meet Our Founder – TIMS CRAWFORD
An Entrepreneur with a Vision for Growth and Community Impact
TIMS CRAWFORD, the founder, CEO, and President of Eco Bins Africa, has been an influential entrepreneur since the 1970s. With a natural acumen for business development and a commitment to positive societal change, he has pioneered several successful ventures across various industries. Since founding Eco Bins Africa in 1996, Tims has led the company to become a global leader in the distribution, import/export, trading services, and warehousing of a wide range of commodities, including food, chemicals, fiberglass, and pharmaceuticals.
Tims holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Management from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, U.S.A. His dedication to both business and community has been the cornerstone of his remarkable career.
In response to the growing dynamics of globalization, Tims launched Eco Bins Africa with a clear vision: to provide top-quality products and services across industries with an unwavering commitment to excellence. With its headquarters in Toronto’s financial district and branch offices in India, the company’s global presence continues to expand, facilitating international trade with integrity and efficiency.
The foundation of Eco Bins Africa rests on three guiding principles: trust, professionalism, and ethics. These values define every aspect of the business, from customer relationships to internal operations. The company’s mission has always been simple: deliver the best quality products at competitive prices, ensuring long-term growth and satisfaction for all stakeholders.
For Tims, success is not defined by personal wealth or prosperity, but by the ability to make a lasting impact on the community. Throughout his career, Tims has devoted significant time and resources to community development, playing a pivotal role in fostering stronger connections between the Indo-Canadian community and mainstream Canadian society.
Realizing the importance of political engagement to further his community service goals, Tims has worked closely with political leaders, assisting them in expanding their networks and achieving their objectives. His contributions go beyond business; they represent a profound dedication to social impact and the betterment of society as a whole.
Tims’s approach to success is rooted in a deep commitment to philanthropy and public service. He believes that true success lies in helping others, and over the past four decades, he has balanced his business ventures with his work in community development, making notable strides in both fields.
Throughout his distinguished career, Tims has shunned public accolades, choosing instead to let his work speak for itself. However, his unwavering dedication to both business and community has earned him numerous honors. In 2013, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, and in 2018, he received the ICCC Humanitarian Award. Most recently, Tims was honored with the Gujarat Gaurav Award for Lifetime Services in May 2019, presented by the Gujarat Public Affairs Council of Canada (GPAC).
These accolades are a testament to Tims’s commitment to excellence, his philanthropic work, and his tireless dedication to improving the lives of others. However, he remains focused on his mission: to drive positive change in both business and community.
